The Fleming Park Bridge is a through truss bridge which was built in 1955. It spans the back channel of the Ohio River, between Neville Island and Stowe Township, PA. The structure replaced an 1894 girder bridge that stood on the same property. Although the back channel of the Ohio River is only 590 feet wide, about 660 feet of bridge travel over water, because of the unique 65 degree angle of the structure's trajectory.[1]

The bridge was closed indefinitely in October 2018 after a routine inspection discovered serious deterioration on multiple members and areas critical for the bridge’s safety. PennDOT is now considering several options including replacement with a new bridge, repairing the original bridge, or just leaving the bridge standing but closed to all traffic. It is unclear what the final future of the bridge will be.
