Deoria is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of five tehsils of the Deoria district. Deoria is located 50 km east of Gorakhpur and about 310 km from the state capital Lucknow.

As per provisional data of the 2011 census, Deoria had a population of 129,570, out of which there were 67,754 males and 61,816 females. The literacy rate was 93.73 per cent.[1]


According to the 2001 census Deoria had 104,222 inhabitants (54,737 men, 49,485 women).[2]
