Early Life
Cavanaugh was an only child who grew up in Vallejo, California and his parent splits at a young age.[1] He started performing as a kid and did a Young Actor's Workshop at a local community college where his passion for performing was discovered.[1] He'd go on to attend Diablo Valley College before transferring to Arizona State University where he majored in theatre.[1] He was also on the improv team there.[1]
Cavanaugh is a faculty member of John Rosenfeld Studios in West Hollywood.[1]
Acting career
He is best known as one of the leads in National Lampoon's Dorm Daze 2, portraying the half of the goofy stoner duo of Pete and Wang (Paul H. Kim). He also appeared in the original movie. Cavanaugh had the recurring role of "Smitty Smith", a young, aspiring copywriter, on AMC's critically acclaimed Mad Men and played in the Horror comedy movie Transylmania.[2] He also provided the voice for the character Damian Wayne in the animated series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
