1992年9月28日，长沙中联建设机械产业公司成立。2000年转型为长沙中联重工科技发展股份有限公司，并于深圳证券交易所发行A股股票。2001年收购英国保路捷公司。2002年以承债方式收购湖南机床厂。2003年，长沙建机院、中联重科、浦沅集团、浦沅工程机械有限公司实现四方重组并购。2004年入选深证100指数成份股。2008年6月，中联重科与弘毅投资、高盛公司和曼达林基金正式签署协议，收购世界三大混凝土机械制造商之一的意大利赛法（Compagnia Italiana Forme Acciaio S.p.A.；CIFA）100%股权后，混凝土机械产品市场占有率跃居全球第一。2008年全球工程机械行业排名中，中联重科位列第17位；全国工程机械行业利润排名第1位。作为中国工程机械产业的领军企业，过去5年，中联重科以年均70.27%的销售额增幅，位居全球工程机械制造商50强企业第一位，比全球50强10.75%的平均增幅，高出59.52个百分点，创造了业界称道的“中联速度”， 2010年中联重科销售额成功撞线500亿元。[2]

The Volkswagen Group MQB platform is the company's strategy for shared modular design construction of its transverse, front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout (optional front-engine, four-wheel-drive layout) automobiles. Volkswagen spent roughly $60bn [1] developing this new platform and the cars employing it. The platform underpins a wide range of cars from the supermini class to the mid size SUV class.
